Get Michael Thurmond’s 6 Day Plan (it’s a book). It lays out every meal for your – including snacks.

Go to the BODY FOR LIFE website and they have a plan where you eat 6 meals a day and then you have a cheat day on the 7th day. It has a list of what to eat and when to eat it.

By small meals, the point is to never be hungry, because when the body is hungry, you end up wanting fast, quick food – which means fatty too. So, you should probably eat fruits and vegetables, nuts and crackers (whole wheat). Bring around these foods and eat whenever you get hungry. Don’t limit yourself to how many servings you can have! If you’ve already had six servings of fruit/veggies/etc, but you’re hungry, continue to eat it, or if it’s time for a main meal, eat that.
Basically, the way to lose weight is to exercise and eat right. Six small meals a day is one part of the equation, but make sure you get at least 30 min. of some activity a day at least four days a week. Good luck!

You can’t eat every four hours, but you can eat small meals regularly throughout the day. Try to limit each meal to 200-300 calories each. Include 3-4fresh fruit, 2-3 whole grains,2-3 vegies, and a few ounces of protein 2 times per day. For instance, breakfast might be a bowl of whole oat oatmeal with a 1/2 cup of fresh berries on top. For mid-morning, perhaps an apple with 2 tbs of peanut butter. For lunch, you might have 3 oz of chicken with 1 cup (2 servings) steamed vegies. Mid afternoon you might enjoy 1 oz of cheese and a cup of grapes. For dinner, you might enjoy 3 oz of salmon with coucous or whole grain brown rice. Then before bed, perhaps another fruit or whole grain snack.
The key is portion control. A serving is 1/2 cup of fruit or vegies. Avoid drinking fruit juice and eat the whole fruit instead. Eat steamed chicken, not fried. Don’t put butter on your vegies. Eat fresh, whole foods in small portions and you’ll control your appetite but still keep your metabolism up and burning calories!

Limit snacks.
Excercise.
Watch the weight fall off.
Many companies have made millions over the past couple of decades on fad diets. Sounds like you’re buying right into that.

THAT IS A GREAT WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT! See your stomach is like a sewing machine. If you put alittle string in at a time it will work with it. (if you put in a little food at a time your stomach digests it.) But if you put to much string into a sewing machine then it messes up. (if you only eat once a day your stomach won’t be used to it. And then if you do eat more times a day then your stomach doesn’t know what to do with the food and it gets stored as fat. So if I were you I’d eat smaller portians a day so your still getting the same amount of food as in that big meal but so that your stomach has control over the food coming in and can digest it.) I would start out with eggs for breakfast. Or just something with protein in it. For the second meal I would eat some fruit, nuts, or vegetable. For the third meal, (this one should be your biggest… because late at night when you eat a large meal your stomach can’t digest it that fast since you go to sleep and it basically stops. But if you eat a bigger meal at lunch you’ll be albe to digest it all.) Okay, so for the third whatever you like to eat except about half of the portian. For the fourth meal a cup of yogurt or ceral. Cereal is always good because it’s made of grain. For dinner I would eat fish since fish has no fat or a sandwhich. After dinner, eat a small piece of chocolate to reward yourself. After about 2 weeks I grauntee you lost weight. And after 2 weeks you can slowly start to change some of the foods. But also while eating like this it will strink your stomach, so pretty soon you’ll have a smaller stomach and that will also help. But also remember to EXERCISE while you are doing this. Because if you don’t all that weight you are losing will turn into extra skin. Hope this helps… It helped me. And if you are wondering if I’m a proffesinal I’m not I’m 13. And by eating the way I just wrote you I lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks so after 4 you’ll have lost your 40.

.Supportive Eating: Eating smaller meals through out the day can help boost your metabolism. Eating smaller meals every 3 hours helps fuel your body. Think about it for a second. I am sure that you know someone who eats all the time and yet are lean and you probably know someone who eats very little and yet the person is fat.
What should you eat? In every meal, you should attempt to eat lean protein, starchy carbs, and fibrous carbs.
Lean protein such as chicken, white eggs, turkey, soy, lean meat, fish, tuna, salmon, etc.
Starchy carbs such as oatmeal, brown rice, red potatoes, yams, etc.
Fibrous carbs such as fruits and vegetables.
These tips alone can help you a lot of you follow my guidelines. Remember, losing weight too fast will not be a permanent weight loss. Take your time and commit to eating better and exercising and you will eventually lose that weight.
Quick tips: Limit your sugar, saturated fat, and hydrogenated fat. Drink plenty of water.
