Eating small meals, I think. Counting calories would just drive you crazy. Also, consider switching to a vegan diet.

Its really back to basics is the best way to lose weight.
Think of the food pyramid where you have one serve of fat a day, 2-3 serves of dairy, 2 serves of meat, 3 serves of carbs and 4-5 serves of fruit and veg. Eat 3 main meals with 2-3 snacks of fruit / low fat yoghurt a day.
If you basically follow this and exercise you will loose weight , however its a life style change not a diet.

It’s been proven over and over and over again, if you want to lose weight, do Atkins. It is the fastest, most reliable diet. 20 grams of carbs a day, and those are from veggies, not low carb products like shakes. That’s it. You don’t even HAVE to exercise to lose.

Well, if you eat more calories than you burn you will gain weight. The better one is eating small meals a day. Don’t let your body get too hungry. If you do then you will overeat when you get food. Just focus on low calorie foods that are good for you. Do not count calories..you’ll stress yourself out.

Both. I just saw a nutritionist, and so did my wife, and she told both of us to cut down on our portion sizes, eat a snack between meals, and cut our calories. We don’t obsess about calories, but we are carefule about them. The portion size thing is wild! A portion of cereal is like 3/4 cup. I was eating like 8 servings of cereal for breakfast! Oh, she also said to eat a more substantial breakfast to help kickstart your day, and also exercise in the morning if possible.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast – they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner – repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

if you can’t identify if a food item is protein, low or high GI carbohydrate or contains measurable amounts of fats then you need to count calories. counting calories isn’t just about the cals per meal it’s about learning the nutritional value of the foods that you consume on a regular basis. if you don’t know what you are consuming then you can never truly be sure that you are eating healthy.
