What are some good clear liquid meals in a vegan diet?
Luci D asked:
I am scheduled for surgery soon, and the doctor says that beginning the day before surgery, I should not eat any solid food, only clear liquid foods.

A clear liquid when it comes to surgery is defined as anything you can see through!
So, 7-Up, Sprite, water, apple juice, things like that.
The person above who said vegetable broth, that might work!
Make sure you take vitamins and supplements to keep healthy and stuff!

Barley water: bring a cup of dehulled barley, one orange or lemon cut into sections, and six cups of water to a boil. Simmer forty five minutes. Cool and strain.
Veggie broth: chop half a head of cabbage, a large potato, a couple of celery ribs, and one small carrot. Cover with water and simmer in a large sauce pan.
I don’t know if there’s such a thing as vegan gelatin. I assume so. But I **** jiggly foods, so I’ve never tried to find out. You might try a tomato aspic. Recipes for that are pretty widely available.
Good luck with your surgery.
