it’s not a fad. it’s a spiritual cleansing of the mind, body & soul. it totally transforms your body. it’s amazing. good luck!

Answer this peter. the best food for candida is sugar, maple syrup is flavored sugar. your cleanse sounds like 10 days of pooping, drinking water and living in a candy a store (with less variety) to replace the poisons. ill try it but it sounds like a fad

Sea salt is the best way to go for not only the salt water flush during the cleanse but for any meal you have following the cleanse. Table salt, or sodium chloride, is considered a toxin in and of itself.

salt?? does it have to be sea salt for the cleanse???

I like it warm, but it can be room temperature too. Cold is too harsh on the system.

Can the lemonade be cold or does it have to be warm/hot?

You’re welcome. Thank you for your blessings.
1) You can use 9 oz. of fresh squeezed sugar cane syrup with 1 oz. of lemon juice and the cayenne pepper. 2) You can use any water that isn’t sparkling (carbonated) and hasn’t had any chlorine or fluoride added.
Best wishes,
Peter

It’s best made drink by drink so the enzymes stay fresh (powerful). However, if you only make up one day at a time, it’ll work for you. Just be sure not to put the cayenne into the lemonade until you’re ready to drink it as cayenne gets stronger the longer it sits!

Hi, I’m from Brasil.
Thank you for this health diet.
God bless you and your family!
1)May I use the honey sugar cane (melado de cana)?. The efect is the same as maple syrup use? It’s less spensive.
2)May I use nature mineral water to do the limonade?
Peace and love, Audra.

I am wondering if you can premake your daily amount of lemonade or if it needs to be made cup by cup.

About 1 person in 4 has difficulty with drinking the salt water. The good news is it gets easier as you go along. If 3/4 of a quart (32 oz.) is enough to cause several urgent eliminations, even if just water, then it’s working. Keep trying to do the whole quart, but don’t worry. If the urgent eliminations aren’t happening, then switch to another cup of herbal laxative tea in the morning instead and try the salt water toward the end of your cleanse. Nix on the sugar free gum. It’s got chemicals.

Agave nectar was never part of the original, time-tested Master Cleanse. I don’t recommend it as it doesn’t provide as much potassium, zinc, manganese and selenium as maple syrup.

Is it ok to use agave nectar instead of the maple syrup? I have heard this but could not find it in the book. Thanks!

The Master Cleanse is recommended to be done for a minimum of 10 days. Keep in mind you will be drinking lots of lemonade. Three of every four people experience no hunger…cravings occasionally, but no hunger.

how many days do you have to go without anything to eat while doing the master cleanse?
June 28th, 2009 at 10:18 am
Yes. Stanley Burroughs, the developer of the Master Cleanse, wrote about balancing acid/alkaline in 1976 in his book “Healing for the Age of Enlightenment.”

If you don’t drink the lemonade, I have no idea if it will work for you as you’re no longer doing the Master Cleanse. Whatever you do, don’t try the salt water flush after you’ve had anything to eat or drink (except pure water). You will probably become nauseous.

hi this diet make the body more alkaline?
July 5th, 2009 at 3:44 am
hey.. will i lose any weight if i only do the salt water flush and the tea at noon?
cause i cant do the lemonade diet.. im allergic to syrup.

Don’t add any miso soup. It’ll just cause you to have cravings each day. (It’s not that I’m against miso soup. I personally love it! It’s just not part of the Master Cleanse.)

My mom just quit on Day 4! She was feeling very sick and it was affecting her work. She runs a business. So she said she will just stick to a veggie diet. My stomach felt awful from the sea salt..im not taking it anymore. I will just take the herbal tea in the morn. I have 6 more days..i think i can make it. I’m hoping this can clear up my steatocystoma on my chest. I also want to lose 12 pounds. i do hope i start to feel better the next day or two. If not, maybe i will add Japanese Miso Soup.

I’ve found that people’s diet afterwards governs whether people gain back, maintain or lose more. I stick to a primarily raw fruit and vegetable diet and have maintained my weight for 5 years after losing more than 20 pounds. But please remember that the Master Cleanse isn’t primarily for weight loss. It’s to detoxify and improve health.
