So, I have implimented an exercise plan of mine which involves approximately 30 minutes of HIIT cardio (maybe more, never less) about 5-7 days a week, and I do moderate weight training about 3 days a week. I’m 18 years old and weigh 212 pounds and my ultimate goal is to weigh about 180. I also eat healthier (more veggies, no pop, etc). It’s going well, but are there any fitness gurus around that can tell me about how long it might take to reach my goal & see results if I stay the course? Thanks.

If you are really over weight…do as much cardio with weight traing that you can.cardio workout will improve the condition of your heart and lungs, by training your heart to pump more blood in fewer beats and your lungs to move more oxygen with less effort..but if you are just trying to lose a couple of pounds…sometimes to much cardio can be counter productive…

so should i do muscle everyday?

Okay so I can understand that if you increase your muscle mass you will burn more calories.. but what is blowing me away is that you said if I were to get on a spin bike for one hour I could actually begin to lose muscle???! The marathon runners do look sickly, I just never heard this before, but it does make sense. Am I hearing you right though?

i feel happy when i gain weight
the reason is that muscle weighs more than fat and i work out and eat regularly….im about half half with muscle and fat……fat is a form of stored energy if you guys didn’t know…but theres that fat and bad fat.

Man, I should say running is one of the best de-stressers there is. This perhaps together with heavy-bag work. I run every day and it doesn’t increase my stress level, it reduces it. Cause it’s all about circulation. That is what prevents you from getting diseased and stressful. Everything in the universe circulates and we are a part of that universe. This together with drinking a lot of water can prevent a lot problems in your body.

I met a trainer the other day and told him that I’ve had some success with my weight lifting program I had been on for 6 months. He looked at me and laughed! I guess I should not do guesswork, but talk with someone who will tell me what to do.

Just go slowly. If you don’t like the changes of your body, then just stop doing the lifting, and the body will go back to normal.

Forget about the past. Present is what matters.

Thanks for giving me an excuse for not doing cardio! Some people told me to do jogging or cycling. Now I can tell them it’s not healthy.
However, I play hockey, so I need to be in shape to compete. I do light cardio 20 minutes 6 days a week. I think it’s reasonable. I will start adding the weight lifting, though.

apparently there’s this hormone that the body releases when the heart is under stress (severe stress), I don’t know what it is but I have been wondering if it’s keeping my chubby.

What body fat percentage do you reckon is normal for a healthy female? I lost weight but I am not sure if I still have too much fat on my body. Most females still have some jiggly bits?
