american goverment should ban super sizes or drinks tht you can fill up again, no one needs super size meals or e even large, i strugle with my weight but has neve been obese always exercise and watch what i eat, its hard and i think its worse if you live in america when i went thre for holidays i couldnt believe on the sizes of the drinks popcorn and stuff

  2. hzthereaper Says:

she never mentioned ANYTHING about trying to excersize more! slimfasts and diet pills are not mirical elixers; you need to consistantly excersize and eat healthy foods over a long period of time to lose weight. so dont say that you tried “everything”.

  3. hzthereaper Says:

i 100% agree. did you notice that she didnt say one word about ever excersizing.

  4. hzthereaper Says:

i think its interesting when she listed all of the methods she tried, she never once said anything about excersize……

FAULT BASED INTERVENTION MODEL. Could all this blame contribute to a range of eating disorders? Are there any other factors contributing to obesity?

    Lose some weight. Y’know.

  7. SantaBarbaraDianne Says:

You go to these restaurants as a treat and then do “damage control” by eating lean, healthy (and yummy imo) foods for the rest of the day or week.

  8. bellyfan666 Says:

    I totally agree with you!

even if you want to go out and eat cookies and ice cream? this is why i do not feel bad for obese teenagers, walk to school, play outside, join a sport, eat goood food. if kids would TRY healthy food they’d realize that pop and cookies feels like **** compared the the healthy zing of say grapes and water…im 16 and im the healthiest, fit kid i know in my school, no excuse for obesity, no excuse

  10. pokerstud001 Says:

It’s no insult man. Lotta people in the US are obese. Look people, if you’re obese and happy, that’s cool, no need to do anything about it. But the thing i **** is where they are obese, and their all sad because they don’t know why. They think they need to do all this special crap, even take weight loss drugs, or even surgery, just to lose weight. Like i said before, the best way to lose weight? Eat less, move more!

  11. pokerstud001 Says:

Ya know what is a good weight loss strategy? Eat less and move more! Simple as that, i don’t care what you do to lose it, the eat less and move more strategy will always be quicker and better. ‘Nuff said!

We were immigrants, so we lived differently to our neighbors. We walked to school, bc we only had one car that my dad took to work, and my mom didn’t drive. And for dinner, we had rice, steamed fish or chicken stir-fry and vegetables. And our American neighbors treated us like we were these poor refugees! You know, like you’re somehow deprived if you aren’t chauffered to school in a SUV and eat red meat and dessert everyday! But that’s how people outside the U.S. live.

  13. tigercub888 Says:

I know I sound like an old lady saying this (and I’m not old!) but we used to walk to school. (We were immigrants, my mom didn’t drive, long story). Americans were, like, appalled. I mean, it was less than a mile — maybe 20 minutes, and our neighbors acted like we were on The Long March. When kids asked us what we ate at home, and we said, “steamed rice, steamed fish, vegetables,” they acted like we were poor and starving. Like, if you don’t have KFC and a dessert everyday, you’re deprived.

I was unfortunately an overweight teen, I was about 350lbs+ when I was 18 years old ( I am 6.2ft).

I couldn’t lose weight at school because of the constant emotional torture.

Fortunately I lost it, I don’t think I would recommend surgery though, I used to think I couldn’t lose weight then I tried VERY HARD and managed to shift it all off.

Unfortunately my skin is in a bit of a state now though.

I like that the children were able to open up around each other. I think its really true that TV, parents and other kids have an impact on ones own self image. Somehow children are going to have to learn how to love themselves as they are, and the rest should follow.

  17. darkmelancholy Says:

Hmph. Weight loss surgery; the easy way out.
People should try to be able to live with themselves instead and live naturally instead of obsessing over their weight. But, wait! Only fad diets and dangerous chemicals can make you lose weight; the comercials say so!

  18. carrazer10 Says:

How can you say that about yourself?

  19. carrazer10 Says:

If this is in the Us. I know why. Because in the US they have soo many fattining restraunts. For example, Dennys, TJ Fridays, I have been to those restraunts 1nce and I live in Canada. It is crazy. No insult to the US

  20. Guirrmo Says:

I’m 13 years old and I used to be 185, but now I’m 150. the thing is I’m short, but I did lose a lot of weight! people are just too lazy these days and everybody wines a lot. Our society is based of instant access. Buying stuf online fast food, etc. They don’t know something called patience. but i do! I’m still trying to lose more weight but I’m getting there!

  21. JNJhealth Says:

You make a good point. One idea about how to lost weight involves writing down EVERYTHING you eat during the day. When you stop to think about it you start to realize how much we consume in calories on a daily basis.

I believe the 45 year olds who say “I’ve tried everything” but teenagers probably have not been able to try everything. they seemed to have just tried fad diets, instead of a healthy lifestyle. it takes longer to lose weight, but its healthier and more natural.

  23. asands123 Says:

even with thyroid poblems (a glad problem) does not guarantee weight loss esp. if you know you have it and take medicine for it. I actually do have a genetic thyroid problem and im slender (not natually, just through being healthy)..so i dont buy the gland problem from everyone. But I do believe people have self coontrol problems that make them unable or not wanting to put food away.

  24. asands123 Says:

I dont think people realise how much theyre putting into their bodies or that the foods tey are eating are that unhealthy. I am about 125 5′7 so im generally considered thin by western standards and it still amazes me how much i eat eithout even realizing it. the other day i ate a big mac and was curious and looked up the calories and it was 600. women are suppose to get 2,000 a day and my big mac wasnt even my whole meal!

  25. gemmaroxxx Says:

I watched this TV program about a woman who said she had tried everything to lose weight. She exercised every day and ate around the average of 2,000 calories a day, she just could not lose weight and was convinced it was an under active thyroid problem. They recorded everything she ate and drank, it actually came to 6,500 calories a day!, I think that may have been the problem^^
